Today is Tuesday
and we had a plan to see a lot of interesting places. We'd woken up, packed our
stuff and our day had begun.
Our last stop for today is Taichung. On our way I've met one interesting lady, who works in Gold Museum in Taipei. She has been traveling about a month alone. She has showed me, where has she been. It has looked amazing. And she has been so kind, that she has given me a welcome present-it looks like an angel. I like it a lot:-)Maybe she'll read this and contact me and we'll see each other again. Let me know, if you're interested in.
Our first stop has
been about 30 minutes far from our train station. It was a traditional train station Jingtong and we've had a breakfast here.
I've ordered fried sweet potatoes - good, but very oily. All over this station
were bamboo sticks on a piece of colorful rope and it made a great atmosphere.
You can also buy a stick for 30NTD, write your wish and hang it on a tree or
just somewhere you like. I haven't bought it, because I've written all my
wishes yesterday on sky lantern:-)
The tree is full of bamboo sticks |
Later we've
wandered around Old Street, we've
seen Lover Bridge and something like
"coal center”. When you cross the railways you climb a little on the stairs
you can see a lot of abandoned buildings,
for example old Coal Café or places, where people earlier lived, worked or went
to pray. It's called Coal Memorial Park. You can see there coal museum, some
view to Jingtong or an example, how do they actually mined a coal. This place
is very abandoned, almost nobody come here, so on your journey you heard a lot
of animals like birds or bees, lizards are running in front of you, butterflies
are showing you their wings and the wild nature is playing with their beauty as
well..

It had to be exhausting work.. |
We've done it! Violetta, Marius and Freddy |
After observing
this small village, we went to the Shifen.
This city can touch your nostalgic heart. You can try there some food, buy
souvenirs or visit waterfall. We'd
planned to see waterfalls. When we'd arrived, we realized that we need to leave
in 50 minutes and the journey to waterfalls takes around 25 minutes. We'd
decided with some trainees to try it. We were almost running! When we had come
to the area, we'd taken a wrong journey, so we've seen only a small piece of
it.. It has been pity, because I've read it's beautiful and we were so close..
But we'd taken a picture here and we'll definitely at least google these
waterfalls :-)
So where were ve've been? On this map are some places :-) And you can read sometihnig about them also on the next picture. At least, you can see the pictures.
Do you see the small waterfall? :-) |
There is also a little bit of Shifen waterfall |

Taichung is a city
of light industry. This city is known thanks to the cheap production of toys,
shoes and electrical goods. Today we've been to the night market and it has been really big. I’ve tried a lot of
food-barbecue chicken pieces, scrambled egg with cabbage and bacon and seaweed,
guava, dumplings and some mango and lemon drinks. I’ve seen also another
surprised thing here-the cock red Hahn on stick. You can buy three pieces only
for 20NTD! But that is not possible to eat:-D I've also bought some earrings-cats
and giraffes. So good night for today!
The city is big and colorful |
Old street with a lot of people..as usually |
Meat on sticks - everywhere |
I haven't been joking about the Hahn :-)) |
And do you remember the trash
cars here in Taiwan? I've written about them in post 10 differences between
Czech and Taiwanese on 3rd of July. I've also put there a song, which you can
hear. So in Taichung trash cars play another song. It's Fur Elise from W. A.
Mozart! Such a nice song and what a horrible way to play it!
